Movement Pattern: Sending and Receiving
Social Respect Focus: Self-Control

Directions:
Look back over the past 3 units (Soccer, Floor Hockey, Smashball),and take a moment to reflect on your experiences and answer the questions below.

Review the rubric on the Sending and Receiving movement pattern and give yourself a score. Sending & Receiving Rubrics
Exemplary
Meeting Expectations
Approaching Expectations

  1. Why did you give yourself this score?
I think should get a Meets because in Floor Hockey I had a correct ready position and a correct stick grip. For Soccer, I had a correct instep and a clear strike of the ball that had power, which was on target to my moving partner. Lastly, for SmashBall I had a two-foot take-off and a flat hand strike with my palm. The ball was struck with power and moving downward and with my hip rotating to follow through with the ball.

  1. What is one thing you learned about the movement pattern Sending and Receiving?
I learned that each sport has a different way of sending and receiving.

  1. What score did you give yourself and why?
I think I would give myself either a 2+ or a 3- because my range of what I am doing is in between the Approaches and Meets column. Sometimes I need prompting and sometimes I don't, and so on.

  1. What is one area of Self-Control you need to continue to work on and why?
I think I need to work on staying on task and controlling my actions because I talk a lot and sometimes get off task or off topic.
