HAPPINESS PROJECT REFLECTION
- Why did you choose this area of happiness to learn about and develop a deeper understanding?
I chose to meditate because it is very relaxing and calming before I went to bed. I also wanted to see if my happiness would change before and after meditation. And I wanted to feel what it was like to be relaxed and just feel good.
- What 4 words would you use to describe the process that you went through over the last two weeks (emotions, feelings etc.)? Give some detail on when / how / where in the process this occurred.
For the first word, I would say that meditation would be calm. For the second night, it would be relaxing. The third night would be one with my bed because it was so nice that I felt like falling through my bed. And the fourth night would be mindful because I was mindful after my sleep.
- What areas of the project were successful and most challenging? Give at least two examples of successes and two examples of challenges.
2 successes were that I slept better because I meditated before bed. Another success was that I felt really relaxed and I might continue doing meditation. 2 challenges were I didn't remember to log my meditation every night and it was hard to remember. Another challenge was that I didn't do it every night either. But I still did 7 days of it which is good.
- What two pieces of new learning came about throughout this project?
2 pieces of learning that came in this project was that meditation can make you feel happy with yourself and happy in general. Another piece was that I didn't know that meditation is so relaxing that it made me feel like I was sinking in my bed because it was so comfy.
- Describe 3 ways that you could use this in everyday life over the next 2 months to build your own happiness and the happiness of others. Clearly describe how this would look and who you could involve?
I can continue meditation or switch to another thing that can boost happiness. Also, something that can build happiness for others is I could do these activities with someone to help them boost their happiness. This would look like doing a different activity each day to see the results on which makes me most happy.
