Laptop Bootcamp Reflection

My 1st Day of Middle School Laptop Boot Camp

Have you ever received a laptop at school for your use? Well I have and yesterday was my first day of Laptop Boot Camp. We learned about Blogging,Digital Citizenship, and Laptop Care.

In blogging we learned what to post and what not to post. Things not to post are your personal information, where you live, what job you have, your age, where you got to school, emails, passwords, etc. Things to post are your academic achievements, your hobbies, your life outside of school, etc.

In Digital Citizenship,we learned that you leave a digital footprint every time you go on the internet. If you post an inappropriate photo than when it isn't funny you try to delete it but people have already copied and pasted it or sent it to other people. We had to sign an agreement to say that we won’t be a cyberbully and be a good Digital Citizen.

Lastly, we learned about Laptop Care. Laptop Care means that you have to take care of your laptop. Such as, never carry your laptop in pizza man delivery, always make sure your laptop is zipped up,always keep food and drink away from your laptop, don’t squish your laptop in your bag or locker, never leave your laptop in an unattended spot(it could get stepped on). I think that all schools should get a laptop or a device for learning.
